Book summary:

Welcome to Camp Catnip is a 32 page children’s picture book for children ages 2—8 years old.  When I wrote Welcome to Camp Catnip, I was thinking of both families that love to camp and families who may never have the opportunity to camp.  The Scoutmaster Steve books take kids through the stages of camping to earn virtual badges.  They earn badges by doing simple camping tasks, such as cooking, pitching a tent, and fishing.  As the scouts work together to accomplish each task, they learn something about themselves, one another and our natural world.  These books emphasize cooperation and caring for self, others and the environment.

In this first book in the series, one of the scouts goes on her first camp out.  She is frightened by the newness of the camping experience.  Her friends help and encourage her to feel comfortable.  Scout Lady Grace discovers she is braver than she knew.  Her friends sing to her to remind her that she is never alone.  That Jesus is her forever friend who is with her always and everywhere.
